There are two types of polarized lenses: 0.75 mm and 1.1 mm. The 0.75 mm lenses work great for casual sports and everyday wear when resistance to breakage isn’t a big concern. The thicker lenses provide enhanced glare reduction and higher polarization, and it’s all worth the cost.

The quality of a polarized lens mainly depends on the quality of the lens material. Optical grade lenses are highest in quality and made out of mainly CR39 or mineral glass. Next, the quality of the polarized film and the way it adheres to the lens determines the efficiency of the filtration. High quality polarized lenses use a higher quality polarized film, sandwiched between the two lenses so that the film is perfectly aligned in the worn position. Once the lens and the films are made, an anti-reflective coating is applied to prevent reflections and glare.

Polarized lenses can make it comfortable to perform different tasks in the sun.
